Buyer look-ups

Taxes, schools, sewer and flood: what to look up

Short answer

Before you offer on a Chestatee home, look up four things the listing cannot answer: the county tax bill and exemptions, the school the district assigns, who handles sewer and water, and the flood map for the lot. We give you the office for each. We do not give a tax rate, a school rating or a flood zone for any address.

The sun sits on the horizon in a starburst over wide, gently choppy water, laying a golden path to a small breaking wave and a wet sand beach in the foreground; low wooded islands and points line the horizon under a clear sky fading from gold to deep blue.

Sewer and septic

Drinking water

We could not confirm which utility supplies drinking water to Chestatee homes. A water authority exists in Dawsonville, and its contact is on the directory, but no source we read ties it to the community. Ask the association, the county and the seller’s most recent water bill.
